Meet the team

Nick Sladen founded the company in 1999 and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the business and identifying development opportunities. He has an excellent track record in delivering a diverse range of profitable developments over many years and has extensive technical knowledge that covers all aspect of the commercial development process.

Rachel joined Sladen Estates in 2016 having previously amassed extensive development experience of large scale public sector regeneration projects throughout the UK. She also ran her own industrial development company for 9 years developing a series of industrial schemes throughout the North and Scotland. She works with Nick on the general overview of the company’s activities and management of the team in order to help ensure successful delivery of all schemes. Rachel is also responsible for co-ordinating the assessment of new development opportunities.

Rebecca joined Sladen Estates in 2007 and is a Chartered Global Management Accountant. Rebecca is responsible for the financial and treasury functions of Sladen Estates as well as all company secretarial duties, ensuring the company’s compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements and reporting. She is Nick Sladen’s Personal Assistant.

Steve joined Sladen Estates in 2006 to provide technical assistance and due diligence expertise as the company grew. Having worked within the development industry for many years, Steve’s background is in site acquisition, serviced land and civil engineering design allowing him to support Sladen Estates throughout the whole of the acquisition process. Following his (partial) retirement, Steve continues to work with Sladen Estates as a consultant, providing specialist technical support and valued insight.

John joined Sladen Estates in 2026, bringing an extensive and proven track record in all sectors including residential, industrial, logistics and roadside retail. Most recently, he led the development and leasing teams at Urban Logistics Reit Plc prior to its sale to London Metric Reit Plc in June 2025, having driven performance and value through a 'sleeves rolled-up' approach to leasing and asset management strategies.

Emily joined Sladen Estates in 2026, bringing a decade of experience in residential land acquisition, development strategy, and planning. As a chartered planning and development surveyor with a background in both public and private sector schemes, Emily is skilled at securing and delivering development opportunities while building strong relationships with landowners, agents, and local authorities.

Tafadzwa joined Sladen Estates in 2025, bringing over a decade of project management expertise gained in an agency setting across diverse sectors. With a strong track record of delivering commercial projects from initial planning through to final completion, Taf now oversees the daily management and execution of multiple schemes and developments.

Lauren joined Sladen Estates in 2026, bringing over a decade of technical experience in project management across a diverse portfolio of projects including both the public and private sectors, managing all project stages from pre-contract through to completion. Lauren oversees the daily management and execution of multiple schemes and developments.

Dan joined Sladen Estates in 2005 and is a qualified Architect with experience of both public and private practice working in most sectors prior to joining Sladen Estates. He strengthens the company’s in-house development expertise and provides innovative and practical commercial building design. He is also a qualified BREEAM Assessor which assists in the implementation of environmentally responsible developments.

Chris joined Sladen Estates in 2025 following several years in architectural practice, bringing with him professional accreditation as a qualified Architect and a portfolio covering a wide range of sectors. His addition to the team enhances the depth and adaptability of the in-house design function.

Elaine joined Sladen Estates in 2014 and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the office and project administration. She is Personal Assistant to Rachel Wood.

Sian joined Sladen Estates in 2018 and is responsible for assisting with project administration from design and construction, though to completion.
