Rushford Court Durham Progressing ahead of schedule
A NEW purpose-built student accommodation scheme in the centre of Durham is progressing well ahead of it’s scheduled opening in September 2018.
The 363 bed scheme is being delivered by national developer Sladen Estates in partnership with Peveril Securities and Helios Properties.
As part of the development, the historic Harding building has undergone an extensive restoration process with hundreds of hours invested into refurbishing the original locally sourced stone by expert stonemasons whilst internally the refurbishment process will see a tasteful mix of original features retained alongside modern, contemporary additions.
Construction Director at Sladen Estates, Charles Fish said: “This is a significant scheme for Durham on a site with a lot of local heritage and we’re really excited with the progress being made by the contractors ahead of the opening of the marketing suite next month that potential occupiers will be able to visit ahead of completion.”
The £34million development will be owned and operated by Unite Students, the UK’s ‘students number one’ choice for student accommodation who own and operate over 50,000 beds across the UK.
Rushford Court is already experiencing a strong level of interest from students in the lead up to the next academic year with students able to move into accommodation prior to the start of the Autumn term in September 2018.
