Sladen Estates and Peveril Securities have started work on one of the biggest developments of the year in Peterborough – a £9 million, 40,000 square foot office block.
Access Prepaid Worldwide Limited is a leading global prepaid card programme manager with card programmes in 22 countries including the USA and China. Access Prepaid is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mastercard.
The company has entered into an agreement for lease on a 15 year lease term with Sladen/Peveril.
The office block is within the established business location of CygnetPark, where some of the biggest brands in the UK have chosen to do business, from IKEA and Debenhams to Volvo, Kelway and News International.
The building will provide Grade A space and is being built to BREEAM ‘Very Good’ standard.
Sladen, based in South Normanton, has already worked on several developments in Hampton with long term development partner Peveril Securities Ltd, including Frankie & Benny’s, Chiquito, Harvester and KFC. It is also just completing a new health and fitness centre for Peterborough City Council.
Chief executive Nick Sladen said: “This development is an important deal for Peterborough and is another significant deal for ourselves and Peveril.
“The location is a very popular one with big businesses, as it is has excellent road and rail links and a good local workforce.
“Access Prepaid has been located in Peterborough for 30 years and after advice from JLL in Nottingham, it chose our CygnetPark site for its new office block.”
The construction of the office block is being done by Bowmer and Kirkland and the engineering work by BWB.
The office block is expected to be completed by August 2014.
Sladen and Peveril have worked together extensively over the last 14 years and in that time have undertook developments jointly with a value of around £300 million.
