Bicester Arc set for next phase with new build-to-rent homes

Proposals for a new Build-to-Rent (BTR) development at Bicester Arc is set to deliver 309 modern apartments as part of the site’s wider masterplan.

Brought forward by Peveril Securities and Sladen Estates, the site already has outline planning consent for offices and other commercial uses. The latest plans represent an opportunity to deliver much-needed new homes in a well-connected and vibrant part of the town.

The scheme will provide a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. Each unit has been designed to maximise space and natural light, with modern layouts that support flexible living. The apartments will be arranged around a large, landscaped courtyard, creating a focal point for the development.

A range of shared facilities will further enhance the offer, including resident lounges, co-working space and a rooftop terrace. These spaces are designed to encourage interaction and provide a high-quality living environment tailored to modern lifestyles.

Rachel Wood, managing director at Sladen Estates, said:

“Momentum is building at Bicester Arc, and this next phase marks an exciting step forward for the site. The location provides the opportunity to deliver new homes in a well-connected setting, integrated within the wider masterplan that will bring long-term investment and growth to the town.

“Our ambition is to deliver a landmark scheme - creating flexible, well-designed homes that respond to the evolving needs of Bicester and the wider region. The site already benefits from a range of amenities on its doorstep, and with nationally significant businesses showing interest in occupying office space alongside the planned eco park, we have the opportunity to deliver new homes and jobs within a setting that supports a high quality of life for both residents and workers.”

As part of this ambition, the proposals place sustainability at their core. The development will be fully electric and supported by solar PV, with a fabric-first design approach to reduce energy demand. New planting, habitat creation and green infrastructure will enhance biodiversity and help create a greener, more attractive environment.

The proposals were unveiled during a public consultation earlier this month, ahead of the submission of a planning application to Cherwell District Council.
